Quiche Lorraine

  • 3 small eggs
  • 1 c. heavy cream
  • 8 strips cooked bacon, diced
  • 1 Tbsp. butter
  • dash of salt, pepper and nutmeg
  • 1 c. diced Gruyere cheese
  • 1 (10-inch) pie crust (ready-to-use), uncooked

Directions

    In a medium size bowl, beat eggs with a whisk.

    Add cream and beat; then add salt and spices.
  3. 3
    Sprinkle cheese and bacon in bottom of crust.
  4. 4
    Pour cream and egg mixture over it.

    Dot top of quiche with small chunks of butter.

    Put pie plate onto cookie sheet and carefully slip into preheated 350° oven.

    Cook 40 minutes or until quiche has puffed up into a dome and slightly brown.

    Allow to cool at least one half hour before serving. Serves 6 to 8.
