  • 6 -8 slices bread
  • 12 eggs, beaten
  • 1 (10 3/4 ounce) can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup half-and-half cream
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 14 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 pinch cayenne pepper
  • 14 cup diced green pepper
  • 14 cup diced sweet red pepper
  • 1 lb crab or 1 lb baby shrimp
  • 1 lb swiss cheese, grated

Directions

    Preheat oven to 325f.

    In a greased 9X13 pan, place slices of bread tightly on bottom of pan.

    Beat eggs with the mushroom soup until blended.

    Blend in the half and half cream and seasonings.

    Sprinkle the red and green pepper and the crab or shrimp over the bread.

    Note: you can use crab OR shrimp, or both crab AND shrimp.

    Pour the egg and soup mixture over the bread; sprinkle cheese over the top.

    Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes.

    Remove foil and bake another 15 minutes, uncovered.

    Cut into squares to serve.
