- 1 c. butter or margarine
- 1 1/2 c. granulated sugar
- 4 eggs
- 1 tsp. almond extract
- 2 c. all-purpose flour
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 1 (21 oz.) can cherry pie filling
Directions

1In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar. Add the eggs.

2Beat until light and fluffy.

3Add the almond extract.

4Stir in the flour and baking powder.

5Mix until smooth. Butter a 13 x 9-inch cake pan.

6Turn the mixture into the pan. Spoon the pie filling into the cake in 16 spots, spacing 4 spoonfuls evenly in each directions.

7Bake at 350° for 45 to 50 minutes or until golden.

8Filling will sink into the cake while baking.
