  • 1 1/2 c. flour
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 3 Tbsp. cocoa
  • 1/3 c. oil
  • 1 Tbsp. vinegar
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 c. water

Directions

    Sift dry ingredients into an 8-inch square cake pan.

    Make 3 craters in dry ingredients and put oil in one, vinegar in the other and vanilla in the last one.

    Pour water over the top and, with a fork, mix until well blended and no dry ingredients are showing. Bake at 350° for 25 to 30 minutes.

    Do not remove from pan.

    Cool on rack and frost with favorite frosting.
