Ingredients
- 3/4 c. warm water (not hot, 110~ to 115~)
- 1 pkg. active dry yeast
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 1 Tbsp. dry milk
- 2 1/4 to 3 c. flour
- 1 egg
- 1/4 c. shortening or oleo
- 1 tsp. salt
Directions

1Dissolve yeast in water in mixing bowl.

2Add sugar and salt; stir, then add dry milk and half the flour.

3Beat thoroughly 2 minutes.

4Add egg and shortening.
-
5Then mix in gradually remaining flour until consistency of dough.

6Place in greased bowl until it doubles in bulk, about 1 hour.

7Knead and turn out on a floured board.

8Roll into desired shapes and sizes.

9Let rise another 1 hour until double in bulk.

10Heat oven to 425° (hot).

11Bake 10 minutes; makes 1 dozen.

12If kitchen is cold, set pan in cupboard with pan of boiling water for warmth and moisture.
