- 5 sugar cookies
- 2 lb. very ripe peaches or 1 large (1 lb. 14 oz.) can cling peach halves
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 3/4 c. water
- 1/4 c. butter or margarine
- 1/4 c. coarsely chopped walnuts
Directions

1Make a syrup of sugar and water.

2Peel and slice peaches.

3Add to syrup and simmer until peaches are heated (or heat canned peaches in saucepan).

4Crush sugar cookies into crumbs.

5Melt butter in small skillet.

6Add and stir in cookie crumbs and walnuts.

7Cook, stirring occasionally, 10 minutes or until crumbs are golden brown.

8To serve, place warm peaches in small compotes; spoon a little

9juice over; sprinkle with about 2 tablespoons crumb mixture.

10Serve with cream or soft vanilla ice cream.

11Top with more crumb mixture.
