  • 2 lb. bag sauerkraut, rinsed and drained
  • 1 stick margarine
  • 1 small can mushrooms, undrained
  • 1 pkg. onion soup mix
  • 1/4 to 1/2 tsp. caraway seed (optional)
  • 1 medium bay leaf (optional)
  • 2 tsp. beef base powder (optional)

Directions

    Combine all ingredients in a saucepan.

    Cover partially and cook over low heat, stirring occasionally, for about 45 minutes. Add small amount of water, if necessary, to prevent scorching.
