  • 1 pkg. dry yeast
  • 2 c. lukewarm water
  • 4 c. self-rising flour
  • 1/4 c. sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 3/4 c. melted shortening

Directions

    Dissolve yeast in water; mix together in a large bowl with all other ingredients.

    To cook, spoon batter into well-greased muffin tins and bake immediately at 425° for 20 minutes.

    This batter will keep for several days stored in refrigerator.

    You do not have to wait for them to rise.
