Ingredients

  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 1/4 c. olive oil
  • 2 large cans tomato puree or whole tomatoes, pureed (Italian brand)
  • 6 oz. tomato paste
  • 1 c. water
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 2 bay leaves
  • few hot peppers (optional)

Directions

    Saute garlic in oil in a large saucepan.

    Add remaining ingredients; stir.
  3. 3
    Heat on low until thoroughly blended.

    Cook double batches and freeze unused sauce in pint or quart containers.

    When needed, defrost, heat and serve.

    Before serving, add cooked meatballs, hamburg or Italian sausage, if desired, or serve separately.
