- 3 lb. beef shank, cut into 1-inch pieces
- 6 c. water
- 2 c. canned whole tomatoes, smashed
- 1/3 c. chopped onion
- 2 tsp. Worcestershire
- 1/4 tsp. chili powder
- 2 bay leaves
- 1 c. diced celery
- 1 c. sliced carrots
- 1 c. diced potatoes
Directions

1Brown meat removed from bone in hot oil or bacon grease.

2Add beans, water, tomatoes, onion and seasonings.

3Cover.

4Simmer 2 hours.

5Add vegetables; simmer until vegetables are soft.

6Remove bones and bay leaves before serving.

7Freezes well.
