Ingredients

  • 3/4 c. butter
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2/3 c. milk
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 3/4 c. flour
  • 4 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • green and red food coloring
  • 2 sq. melted chocolate, mixed with 1/4 tsp. soda (may be substituted for any layer)

    Blend butter and sugar; add eggs and milk.

    Sift flour and baking powder and blend with liquid ingredients.

    Add vanilla. Divide batter into 3 parts.

    To part one, add green food coloring. Pour into loaf pan.

    To part two, add red food coloring, then pour this carefully over first layer.

    Pour last layer as is carefully over pink layer.

    Bake at 375° for 1 hour.
