- 2 pkg. yeast
- 1/4 c. warm water
- 2 tsp. salt
- 1 c. scalded milk
- 5 c. flour
- 1 tsp. sugar
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 2 eggs, beaten
Directions

1Crumble yeast into small bowl.

2Add lukewarm water and 1 teaspoon sugar; set in warm place.

3Combine shortening, salt and sugar in large bowl.

4Add scalded milk.

5Stir until shortening is melted.

6Cool to lukewarm.

7Add yeast mixture and eggs.

8Add part of flour.

9Beat until smooth.

10Add remaining flour.

11Knead dough until smooth.

12Cover.

13Raise until double bulk.

14Roll out until 1/2-inch thick.

15Cut.
-
16Place on greased pan 1 inch apart.

17Let raise.

18Fry in deep, hot grease.
