  • 3 c. milk (lukewarm)
  • 1 stick margarine
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 2 Tbsp. shortening
  • 1 Tbsp. vanilla
  • 2 Tbsp. whiskey
  • 1 pkg. dry yeast
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 8 c. flour
  • 1 box raisins
  • 1/2 c. nuts (optional)

Directions

    In large pot, prepare milk, margarine, shortening, salt, vanilla and whiskey.

    Add yeast to mixture.

    Follow yeast instructions regarding the water amount.

    Mix gently.

    Add eggs, sugar and raisins.

    Gradually add flour (if needed, add more flour as you don't want the dough too liquidy).

    Knead dough for 5 minutes.

    Cover and let rise until double in size.
