- 2 c. raisins
- 2 heaping tsp. baking soda
- 3 Tbsp. butter
- 2 c. boiling water
- 2 c. sugar
- 4 c. unsifted flour
- 2 tsp. cinnamon
- 1 c. nuts, chopped
- 2 eggs, beaten
Directions

1Combine raisins, baking soda, butter and water.

2Let stand overnight or at least 3 hours.

3Then add sugar, flour, cinnamon, nuts and eggs.

4Stir until blended.

5Pour batter into 3 (1 pound) size coffee cans that have been well-greased.

6Bake at 325° for 1 hour and 5 minutes.

7Test with toothpick.
