- 1/2 c. water
- 3/4 c. sugar
- 1 1/2 Tbsp. corn starch
- 1/8 tsp. salt
- 1 Tbsp. vanilla
- 1 3/4 c. flour
- 1/2 Tbsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. salt
- 3/4 c. brown sugar, packed
- 2 1/2 c. rolled oats
- 2 sticks margarine/butter
- 1/2 c. chopped nuts (optional)
Directions

1Simmer the first 5 ingredients in a sauce pan till thick (they won't get really thick).

2Take off heat, add vanilla and cool.
