  • 1 c. butter
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. buttermilk
  • 2 medium eggs
  • 2 c. flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 3 c. bran
  • 1/2 c. raisins
  • 1/2 c. chopped nuts

Directions

    Melt butter in a saucepan.

    Add sugar, salt and buttermilk. Allow to cool.

    Stir in eggs.

    Sift together the flour and salt. Add raisins and nuts; blend well.

    Put dough into a loaf pan. Bake for 1 hour at 350°.

    Let cool; cut in slices.
