Raisin Sauce

  • 1 c. seedless raisins
  • 1 c. water
  • 4 cloves
  • 1 c. brown sugar
  • 2 tsp. cornstarch
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/8 tsp. pepper
  • 2 Tbsp. butter or margarine
  • 1 Tbsp. vinegar or lemon juice

Directions

    Wash raisins; drain and place in saucepan.

    Add water and cloves; simmer for 10 minutes.

    Mix together sugar, cornstarch, salt and pepper.

    Stir into raisin mixture.

    Simmer and stir about 3 minutes or until sauce is thick.

    Add the butter and vinegar. Simmer about 1 or 2 minutes.
