Ralph'S Bread Pudding

- 8 eggs
- 1 tsp. salt
- 2 c. sugar
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 5 1/2 c. milk
- 1/2 lb. French bread
- 1 stick butter, melted
- 1/4 c. toasted pecans (optional)
Directions

1Blend eggs, salt and sugar with wire whip.

2Add vanilla and milk.

3Break bread into medium-sized pieces in a bowl.

4Pour the melted butter over bread and toss to coat.

5Then arrange bread in a Pyrex baking dish and pour the egg mixture over it.

6Place the dish in a larger pan of water with at least an inch of water in the pan.

7(Water should be well up around the dish.)

8Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until knife inserted comes out clean.

9Serve with lemon sauce or whiskey sauce (below).
