- 1 c. white sugar
- 1 c. shortening
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 tsp. soda
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 2 c. wheat flakes
- 1 c. nuts, raisins or chocolate chips
- 1 c. brown sugar
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 2 c. flour
- 2 c. quick oatmeal
- 1 c. coconut
Directions

1Cream sugar into shortening until light and fluffy.

2Stir in eggs and vanilla.

3Sift baking powder, soda and salt with flour. Add to creamed mixture.

4Add oatmeal, flakes, coconut and nuts. Stir well; drop by teaspoon onto a greased baking sheet.

5Press flat with fork.

6Bake for 15 minutes at 350°.
