  • 2 c. raw apples, peeled, cored and chopped
  • 1 c. butter
  • 1 heaping c. sugar
  • 1 tsp. cloves
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. allspice
  • 1/2 tsp. soda dissolved in 1/2 c. hot water
  • 2 1/2 Tbsp. cocoa
  • 2 c. flour

Directions

    Preheat oven to 350°.

    Cream butter and sugar; add spices. Stir cocoa and flour together; add alternately with soda water. Stir in apples.

    Pour into a greased and floured 13 x 9-inch pan or Bundt pan.

    Bake for 30 to 35 minutes, until tester comes out clean.
