- 1/2 lb. salt pork
- 2 onions, chopped
- 1 Tbsp. shortening
- 1 Tbsp. flour
Directions

1Soak beans overnight. Brown salt pork in shortening. Brown onions. Add flour, browning to form a roux.

2Add beans and enough water to cover well. Simmer 2 hours.

3Serve with rice. Serves 8.
