  • 1 small or medium red cabbage
  • onion
  • 1/2 stick margarine
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 4 or 5 cloves
  • 1 chopped-up apple
  • 1 tsp. vinegar
  • 1 tsp. sugar

    Shred red cabbage. Saut onion in margarine. Add cabbage, bay leaves, cloves, apple, vinegar and sugar. Cover (barely) with water and cook for about 20 minutes until soft.
