- 1 large red onion, thinly sliced
- 1 small head red cabbage, shredded
- 1/4 c. each: red wine vinegar and sugar
- 1 tsp. caraway seed
- 3/4 tsp. salt
- pepper to taste
Directions

1Cook onion in butter or margarine until softened.

2Add cabbage and vinegar.

3Cook gently, covered, until cabbage is crisp-tender, about 12 minutes.

4Add sugar, caraway seed, salt and pepper.

5Cook gently 5 minutes longer, stirring often to prevent burning.
