- 3 to 4 apples
- 1 large onion
- cloves
- peppercorns
- salt
- pepper
- 8 to 10 Tbsp. vinegar
- 3 to 4 Tbsp. sugar
- bacon
Directions

1Shred red cabbage; slice apples, peel onion and spike with cloves and add all other ingredients to large pot, adding enough water to keep cabbage from burning.

2Bring to boil, stirring occasionally.

3Add more water if necessary and simmer on low heat until cabbage is done.
