- 1 head Red Cabbage
- 1 whole Onion
- 1 whole Large Granny Smith Apple, Or 2 Small Ones
- 2/3 cups Sugar
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- 3/4 cups Apple Cider Vinegar
- 3/4 cups Water
- 1 Tablespoon Cornstarch
Directions

1Begin by quartering one head of red cabbage. Cut each quarter into slices 1/4 inch thick and place in a large pot.

2Dice the onion and add it to the red cabbage.

3Peel and slice the apples, and add them to the cabbage.

4Add the sugar, salt, vinegar, and water to the mixture as well.

5Turn the stove on high and bring to a boil. Stir and boil for about 5 minutes.

6Reduce the heat to low, cover the pot ajar, and let it simmer together for another 45 minutes.

7Remove the cabbage from the heat and add about a tablespoon of corn starch to bring the liquid to the thickness of gravy.
