  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 4 Tbsp. brown sugar
  • 1 medium head red cabbage, shredded (about 4 to 5 c.)
  • 3 tart apples, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 c. mild vinegar
  • 1/4 c. raisins
  • salt and pepper

    Melt butter and add onion and brown sugar.

    Cook until a golden yellow.

    Add remaining ingredients.

    Cover and cook on high heat until steaming, then reduce to low heat.
