- 1/3 c. margarine
- 1 c. chopped onion
- 8 c. (about 1 3/4 lb.) shredded red cabbage
- 3 c. unpeeled diced apples
- 1 to 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. caraway seed
- 1/8 tsp. pepper
- 1/3 c. brown sugar
- 1/2 c. cider vinegar
- 1/2 c. water
Directions

1Melt margarine in large skillet.

2Add onion; saute until tender.

3Stir in cabbage, apple, salt, caraway seed, pepper, brown sugar, vinegar and water.

4Cover and simmer 50 to 60 minutes, or until cabbage is tender and flavors are well blended.
