  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 Tbsp cocoa
  • 1 tsp red food coloring
  • 3 Tbsp strong hot coffee
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup buttermilk

Directions

    Beat butter and sugar together.

    Add eggs, cocoa, food coloring, coffee, soda and vanilla.

    Beat well.

    Add in flour, salt and buttermilk.

    Bake in 3 greased pans at 375° until done. Cool cakes, then fill and frost with Red Earth Icing.
