- 7 large cucumbers, peeled and seeded
- 1 c. pickling lime
- 1 c. white vinegar
- 1 or 2 drops of red food coloring
- 2 c. cider vinegar (brown)
- 1 c. water
- 7 c. sugar
- 8 sticks cinnamon
- 1 pkg. of candy hearts
Directions

1Mix lime and enough water to cover the cucumbers.

2Let stand 24 hours.

3Drain and rinse in cold water until clear.

4Drain.

5Mix food coloring, white vinegar and water to cover cucumbers.

6Simmer 2 hours.

7Drain.

8Mix other ingredients.

9Bring to boil, pour over pickles and let stand 3 days, stirring occasionally.

10Put in kettle and bring to boil.

11Pack in hot jars.
