- 1 c. buttermilk or 1 c. milk with 1 Tbsp. vinegar
- 1 1/2 c. oil
- 2 eggs
- 1 oz. red food coloring
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 Tbsp. vinegar
- 2 1/2 c. flour
- 1 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 tsp. soda
- 1 Tbsp. cocoa
Directions

1Mix the first 3 ingredients in a large bowl. Add food coloring, vanilla and vinegar. Mix well. Sift together the flour, sugar, soda and cocoa. Blend the dry ingredients with the cream mixture. Pour into 2 (9-inch) cake pans (greased). Bake for 30 minutes at 350°.
