- 1 1/2 c. vegetable oil
- 1 1/2 c. sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 Tbsp. cocoa
- red food coloring
- 2 1/4 c. plain flour
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1 c. buttermilk
- 1 tsp. soda
- 1 Tbsp. vinegar
- 1 tsp. vanilla
Directions

1Combine oil and sugar.

2Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each.

3Add cocoa and food coloring.

4Sift flour and salt together. Add alternately with buttermilk to creamed mixture.

5Sprinkle soda and then vinegar over batter and stir until well blended. Add vanilla and pour into 2 (9-inch) cake pans, greased and floured.

6Bake for 30 to 35 minutes.
