- 1 c. buttermilk
- 2 c. sugar
- 2 c. Wesson oil
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp. soda
- 1 Tbsp. vinegar
- 1 Tbsp. cocoa
- 3/4 Tbsp. salt
- 1 (1 oz.) red food coloring
Directions

1Cream sugar, Wesson oil and eggs.

2Beat well. (In cup, mix coloring, cocoa, and vinegar.)

3Pour into sugar mixture.

4Sift flour, soda and salt together.

5Add alternately with buttermilk. Add vanilla.

6Pour into two 9 inch or three 8 inch layer pans. Bake at 350° for 35 minutes.
