Ingredients

  • 1 pt. boiling water
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 3/4 c. shortening
  • 5 to 6 c. plain flour
  • 1 Tbsp. salt
  • 1 pkg. yeast
  • 2 beaten eggs or egg substitutes

Directions

    Mix first 5 ingredients.

    When mixture becomes lukewarm, add yeast, then add eggs.

    Mix well.

    Place dough in loaf pans; let rise until it doubles.

    Bake at 375° until golden brown and when tapped on top a hollow sound will result.

    Any extra dough may be stored in refrigerator for up to one week.
