Ingredients
- 3/4 c. hot water
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 Tbsp. salt
- 3 Tbsp. shortening
- 1 c. warm water
- 2 pkg. yeast
- 1 beaten egg
- 3 c. flour
Directions

1Mix first 4 ingredients together.

2Cool to lukewarm.

3Measure warm water into bowl.

4Sprinkle in yeast.

5Stir until dissolved. Stir in lukewarm water.

6Add beaten egg and flour.
-
7Beat until smooth.

8Stir in additional 3 cups flour.

9Place dough in greased bowl; brush top with soft shortening.

10Cover tightly with foil. Store in refrigerator until double in bulk or needed, up to 1 week.

11When ready to use, shape and let rise about 1 hour.

12Bake at 425° until brown.

13Brush with butter while hot.
