- 1 c. boiling water
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 pkg. yeast
- 1/2 tsp. sugar
- 4 c. plain flour
- 1/4 c. sugar
- 1/4 c. shortening
- 1/4 c. warm water
- 1 egg
Directions

1Mix boiling water, sugar, salt and shortening.

2Soften yeast in 1/4 cup warm water and add 1/2 teaspoon sugar.

3When first two mixtures are cool, add yeast mixture to beaten eggs.

4Add 2 cups flour and mix well. Mix remaining flour and mix well.

5Mix, but do not knead.

6Cover and let set in refrigerator at least two hours. Shape into rolls and put in greased pan.

7Let rise in warm room until double in size.

8Bake at 400° until golden brown.

9Makes about 3 dozen.
