  • 1/2 c. shortening
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 2 c. sweet milk
  • 7 c. flour
  • 1/2 c. water
  • 1 pkg. yeast
  • 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 Tbsp. salt

Directions

  1. 1
    Mix shortening, sugar and milk together and bring to a boil. Cool to lukewarm.
  2. 2
    Dissolve yeast in 1/2 cup of lukewarm water. When yeast is dissolved, stir into lukewarm milk mixture.
