Ingredients
- 6 to 6 1/2 c. flour
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 2 tsp. salt
- 2 pkg. dry yeast (I use Red Star)
- 1/2 c. butter, softened
- 1 egg
- salad oil
Directions

1Combine 2 1/4 cups flour, sugar, salt and yeast.

2Add butter or margarine.

3With mixer at low speed, gradually pour 2 cups hot tap water into the dry ingredients.

4Add egg; increase speed to medium.

5Beat 2 minutes (scrape bowl).

6Beat in 3/4 cup flour for 2 minutes.

7Add 2 1/2 cups or enough to make a thick dough.

8Knead dough 10 minutes.

9Shape into ball and put in greased bowl.

10Make sure top of dough is greased.

11Let rise until doubled in size. Shape into rolls.

12Let rise until doubled.

13Bake at 450° for 15 or 20 minutes.
