Ingredients

  • 2 lb. self-rising flour
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 c. cream Crisco
  • 2 pkg. yeast
  • 2/3 c. warm water
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 2 c. buttermilk
  • 2 eggs, well beaten

Directions

    Mix yeast in warm water; set aside.

    Add flour, sugar, Crisco, soda, eggs and buttermilk.

    Mix good with your hands.

    Roll out thin when ready to bake.

    Cut out with round cookie cutter, flour, double over, let set for five minutes and bake.

    Best to let dough set in refrigerator overnight, then cut out and bake.

    Bake in a 400° oven for 8 to 10 minutes.
