  • 8 C. shredded cabbage
  • 1 lg. thinly sliced onion
  • 1 1/2 C. sugar
  • 1 C. vinegar
  • 3/4 C. salad oil
  • 1 tsp each; dry mustard and celery seed
  • salt to taste

Directions

    Alternate layers of cabbage, onion and sugar.

    Combine remaining ingredients and bring to a boil.

    Pour boiling liquid over cabbage mixture and stir to mix.

    Refrigerate.

    Should keep up to 4 weeks in refrigerator.
