- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. caraway seed
- 1/8 tsp. pepper
- 1/2 c. drained sauerkraut
- 8 slices bacon
- butter
- 8 slices square pumpernickel bread
Directions

1Mix ground beef lightly with salt, caraway seed and pepper; shape into 8 patties, about 1/2-inch thick.

2Place 2 tablespoonfuls sauerkraut on each of 4 patties; top with remaining patties.

3Wrap 2 slices bacon around each; fasten with moistened wooden picks.

4Broil 4 inches from heat for 6 minutes on each side or until bacon is crisp.

5Serve each between 2 slices buttered pumpernickel.
