  • 1 c. white stone-ground cornmeal or regular white cornmeal
  • 1 c. sifted flour
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/4 c. sugar
  • 1 c. milk
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 2 Tbsp. melted shortening or oil

Directions

    Preheat oven to 400°.

    Sift dry ingredients into mixing bowl. Combine milk with eggs and add to the dry ingredients.

    Add melted shortening or oil and stir until blended.
