  • 1/2 c. shortening
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 2 c. flour
  • 1 c. buttermilk
  • 2 c. rhubarb, cut fine

    Cream brown sugar and shortening.

    Add dry ingredients alternately with buttermilk.

    Stir in rhubarb.

    Top with 1/2 cup sugar and 1 teaspoon cinnamon, mixed together.
