- 1 1/2 c. brown sugar
- 1/2 c. shortening
- 1 egg
- 1 c. sour milk
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 2 c. sifted flour
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 1/2 c. finely cut rhubarb
Directions

1Cream sugar and shortening; add egg.

2Combine flour, salt and baking soda.

3Add alternately with sour milk.

4Add vanilla and rhubarb.

5Pour in greased 9 x 13-inch pan and sprinkle top with 1/3 cup sugar, mixed with 1 teaspoon cinnamon.

6Nuts may be used in both cake and topping.

7Bake in a 350° oven for 35 to 40 minutes.
