Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 c. brown sugar
  • 2/3 c. oil
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 c. sour milk
  • 2 1/2 c. flour
  • 1 1/2 c. diced rhubarb
  • 1/2 c. chopped nuts
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. butter

Directions

    Beat together brown sugar, oil and eggs.

    Mix together soda, vanilla and sour milk.

    Add to first mixture.

    Add flour, mixing well, then add rhubarb and finally nuts.

    Pour batter into 2 greased and floured 8-inch loaf pans.

    Sprinkle top with mixture of 1 tablespoon butter and 1/2 cup sugar.

    Bake 1 hour at 325°.
