- 1 lb. long grain white rice (I like Mahatma or Water Maid)
- 1 Tbsp. salt
- 2 Tbsp. cooking oil or butter
- 2 1/2 qt. water
Directions

1Put salt and oil in water; bring to a rolling boil.

2Pour in rice slowly while stirring gently to keep rice from settling. When mixture returns to rolling boil, stop stirring and leave it alone.

3The boiling action will stir it.

4Cook 13 to 15 minutes. Pour into colander and rinse well with warm water.

5Let drain. Use what you need and freeze the rest.

6To use frozen rice, place in colander and run hot water on it.
