Rice Casserole

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 c. rice
  • 3/4 c. butter
  • 1 large fresh onion, diced
  • 3 stalks celery, sliced
  • 8 oz. sliced water chestnuts
  • 1 c. mushroom stems and pieces
  • 1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 (10 3/4 oz.) cans cream of mushroom soup
  • 2 tsp. Kitchen Bouquet
  • 4 c. water

Directions

    Rinse raw rice several times to get rid of starch.

    In skillet, saute rice, butter, onion and celery for 10 minutes.

    Put sauteed ingredients in a large bowl.

    Add chestnuts, mushrooms, Worcestershire sauce, soup, water and Kitchen Bouquet.

    Pour into greased pan.

    Cover and bake at 350° for 1 hour and 15 minutes, or until rice is done.
