  • 1/2 c. slivered almonds
  • 1 c. rice (brown or white)
  • 2 Tbsp. chopped green pepper
  • 1/2 lb. fresh mushrooms or small can sliced mushrooms
  • 4 Tbsp. butter or margarine
  • 1 can chicken broth

Directions

    Cook together almonds, rice, pepper, mushrooms, onions and margarine until rice turns yellow, stirring often.

    Pour into greased 1 1/2-quart casserole.

    Add chicken broth.

    Cover and bake at 325° for 1 hour.

    DO NOT USE QUICK COOKING RICE.
