Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 qt. clear chicken stock
  • 2 c. long grain rice
  • 3/4 c. diced onion
  • 1 c. diced celery
  • 1/2 stick margarine
  • 1 tsp. sage
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper
  • 1 tsp. Accent
  • 1 c. mushroom pieces and juice
  • 1 tsp. thyme

Directions

    Heat chicken broth to the boiling point.

    Season with 1 teaspoon of salt if not seasoned.

    Add the rice and stir until it boils up once.

    Lower flame, cover and steam 15 minutes.

    Saute the onion and celery in margarine until clear; add mushroom and seasonings and combine the 2 mixtures.

    Turn rice into casserole to be served hot.
