Ingredients

  • 1 clove garlic, chopped
  • 1/4 c. chopped onion
  • 1/4 c. chopped bell pepper
  • 1/4 c. chopped celery
  • 2 Tbsp. oleo
  • 1 1/2 c. rice
  • 3 bouillon cubes
  • 3 c. water
  • 1 small can mushrooms (optional)

Directions

    Saute garlic, onion, bell pepper and celery in oleo.

    Add rice.

    Over low heat, lightly brown the rice.

    As rice is browning, dissolve bouillon cubes in 1 cup hot water.

    After rice is lightly browned, add bouillon mixture, then add remaining 2 cups water.

    After water is mostly cooked off, add mushrooms. Allow rice to finish cooking and season to taste.
