Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. raw rice
  • 1 pt. milk
  • 1 Tbsp. gelatin
  • 4 Tbsp. sugar
  • 1 beaten egg
  • 1 pt. whipped cream
  • 1/2 c. cut raisins
  • 1/2 c. chopped nuts
  • 1/2 c. maraschino cherries

Directions

    Boil rice in milk until soft in top of double boiler; stir occasionally.

    When rice is soft, remove from heat; add gelatin that has been dissolved in a little cold water.

    Add sugar to rice when it is cooked.

    Cool in pan of water.

    Stir in egg, whip heavy cream and stir in when cool.

    Add raisins, nuts and cherries.

    Serves 8.
